"Using my voice to influence projects, strategic decisions, and values I believe in today is something I owe to my time in Consulting. The strong sparring network I built during those years gave me the confidence to do so."
Joint trainings, seminars, and events provided her with lasting “aha moments.” Today, she actively passes these learnings on to her team.
Her advice to future colleagues at Volkswagen Group Consulting:
"Your time in Consulting offers a unique opportunity to broaden your professional horizon. The diversity of projects and the direct interaction with a wide range of leadership personalities is a true privilege. If you already know your next steps within the Group, choose projects in that area strategically—this opens doors and provides valuable insights."
Judith Kühne
Head of Group Application Management IT4Cross, Analytics, Platforms and MOS at Volkswagen Group
Time at Volkswagen Group Consulting: 4 years
Exit level: Senior Consultant
After her time with us, Judith consistently continued her career within the Volkswagen Group. In 2017, she took over the leadership of the Quality Management Academy, where she was responsible for transformation programmes focused on qualification in software quality, data science and new technologies.
In 2018, she was appointed Head of Smart Quality Lab. In this role, she significantly shaped the Group’s data-driven quality analysis over a period of five years – among other things through the use of AI methods and her leadership in the Caten-X Quality Use Case.
Since 2023, Judith has served as Head of Group Application Management IT4Cross, Analytics, Platforms and MOS. In this key role, she assumes leadership responsibility for a cross-functional team and drives the strategic development of the application landscape. Her scope of responsibility covers corporate functions such as IT, Legal, Integrity, Group Quality, and Mobile Online Services – making a decisive contribution to digital transformation and high-level platform management.
Her advice to future colleagues at Volkswagen Group Consulting:
“As a consultant, I supported brands, regions and business units of the Volkswagen Group in a wide range of projects. The resulting cross-functional knowledge and broad network have been extremely helpful in every professional role I’ve held.”
Markus Ehle
Lead Model Series Lead - Group Unit Cell at Volkswagen Group
Time at Volkswagen Group Consulting: 11 years
Exit level: Associate Principal
Today, Markus is responsible as Model Series Lead for the Group Unit Cell for the strategic development of the Volkswagen Group’s battery cell portfolio. Previously, Markus led the MQB platform and managed project and process operations for the G01 series.
His time at Volkswagen Group Consulting was formative. The breadth of the project portfolio across different functional areas, brands, and regions not only gave him new professional insights but also enabled him to build a strong network. For example, in his second project, he optimized the organization of product controlling. This brought him experiences and contacts that still benefit him today. Projects at Bugatti and in motorsport gave him not only a fascination for extraordinary vehicles but also an understanding of the dynamics of a startup mentality. While building a new model series, he recognized the value of strong end-to-end product management—precisely the area he is responsible for today.
As a consultant, he learned to lead teams without disciplinary authority—through collegiality, clear goals, and persuasive arguments. This ability, combined with a culture of intensive feedback and training to quickly structure complex issues and translate them into clear storylines, still shapes his approach to work today.
His advice to future colleagues at Volkswagen Group Consulting:
"Leave your comfort zone and use your early years in consulting to get to know different areas, brands, and regions. Then, build expertise in time, because that is crucial to provide real added value and act as a sparring partner at eye level."
